In the name of
God Amen I, Thomas Collett of Sherborne in the County
of Gloucester, a Yeoman, being in good health and of sound and disposing mind
and understanding, thanks be given to God, do make this my last Will and
testament in the following manner, that is to say
I give to my
wife Elizabeth Collett during her life the sum of six pounds ten shillings a
year, to be paid half yearly the sum of three pounds and five shillings to be
paid at Christmas and the sum of three pound and five shillings to be paid at
Midsummer every year
I give to my
kinsman Thomas Hitchman of Sherborne
my freehold estate at Coopers Hill to him and his heirs for ever he paying out
of it to my wife during her life the sum of six pounds and ten shillings every
year as above mentioned
I give to my
said wife Elizabeth Collett the sum of five pounds to be paid her by my
executrix within one year after my decease
I give unto
John Hitchman of Sherborne
the sum of five pounds to be paid by my executrix within one year after my
decease
I give unto my
kinswoman Sarah Jones of Northleach the sum of ten
pounds to be paid by my executrix within one year after my decease
I give unto my
kinswoman Elizabeth Hitchman during her life one
house and orchard thereto belonging which I desire her to put in better repair
and after her decease to go to her son Thomas Hitchman
to him and his heirs for ever
I give to my
kinswoman Elizabeth Hitchman my purse and all my
money any stock all my goods and all my belongings to be both linen and
woollens and everything not herein bequeathed
I constitute
and appoint my kinswoman Elizabeth Hitchman wife of
John Hitchman whole and sole executor of this my last
will and testament hereby revoking all others by me heretofore and in witness
whereof I have hereto put my hand and seal this eleventh day of October in the
year of Our Lord 1777
